How Delivery Reliability and Quality Are Ensured
In large-scale construction projects, a bathroom furniture supplier must offer far more than high-quality products. Project deliveries must stay on schedule, material availability must be secured, and production must be able to respond to increasing order volumes without compromising quality or delivery reliability.
In this article, we explain how Polaria manages large bathroom furniture project deliveries in a controlled and dependable way.
Polaria is a Finnish manufacturer of bathroom furniture, where large project deliveries are part of everyday business. The company supplies more than 100,000 products annually for new residential developments, renovation projects, and the marine industry. Decades of experience with projects of varying sizes have resulted in an operating model that enables even high-volume deliveries to be completed without compromising quality or delivery performance.

Bathroom Furniture Production Capacity Scales to Large Construction Projects
Polaria’s production capacity offers significant room for growth. Production automation, robotics, and the ability to increase output through flexible shift arrangements make it possible to scale production according to demand, even for rapidly growing order volumes and large project deliveries.
Scalability is also supported by the company’s workforce structure. With approximately 60 employees, a large share of the production team consists of multi-skilled professionals whose broad expertise enhances operational reliability throughout the manufacturing process. The combination of experienced employees and new talent ensures knowledge transfer and allows resources to be allocated efficiently as production requirements change.

Project Deliveries Are Planned in Phases
Although an individual project may include thousands of products, execution is based on carefully planned delivery phases.
Polaria has completed numerous construction projects comprising 150–250 bathrooms, with multiple products delivered to each bathroom. Every year, the company supplies projects requiring more than 1,500 bathroom furniture units in total.
A notable example is the HOAS Huippu student housing project in Central Pasila, Helsinki, where four different Polaria products were delivered to nearly 400 apartments across several construction phases.
Successful large-scale deliveries are built on thorough planning, phased implementation, and continuous monitoring. By dividing each project into manageable delivery stages, even large projects become a controlled part of normal production.
Delivery Reliability Is Built on a Strong Supplier Network
The success of major projects depends not only on manufacturing, but also on the availability of materials and components.
For its key materials and components, Polaria generally works with multiple suppliers. In addition, the company maintains safety stocks of purchased components and materials. Depending on the product category, these buffer inventories typically cover approximately two months to as much as one year of production. In recent years, these safety stocks have been further expanded to strengthen delivery reliability.
Polaria’s supplier network is primarily based in Finland, neighbouring countries, and the EU single market. This reduces supply chain risks and supports predictable procurement. Delivery reliability is further strengthened by the company’s warehousing capacity. In addition to existing facilities, Polaria has introduced approximately 1,600 m³ of additional warehouse space, improving material availability and supporting uninterrupted production.
Quality Management Is Integrated into the Manufacturing Process
One of the most common concerns in large projects is whether product quality can be maintained as delivery volumes increase.
At Polaria, quality management is embedded throughout the manufacturing process. Products are inspected after every production stage, and standardised procedures have been defined for each step.
Every product and component has its own item code and work instructions, which are available to employees throughout the manufacturing process. Furthermore, certain production stages, such as powder coating, operate at standardised production speeds, meaning output cannot simply be accelerated at the expense of quality.
The objective is simple: customers receive the same high-quality product regardless of whether it is manufactured as part of a single order or a project involving thousands of units.

Deliveries Aligned with the Construction Schedule
In construction projects, delivering at the right time is often just as important as the delivery itself.
Construction sites typically have limited storage capacity, which is why deliveries are scheduled according to the customer’s construction timeline. Large projects are normally delivered in multiple batches as construction progresses. When required, additional flexibility can also be achieved through the warehousing solutions of logistics partners.
Production workload is monitored daily using the ERP system, while close communication between production and sales enables continuous forecasting of delivery schedules. If project timelines change, customers are informed as early as possible.
Customer Feedback Supports the Operating Model
Delivery performance and product availability are continuously monitored through customer feedback.
In a recent customer satisfaction survey (December 2025), the average rating for product availability and delivery times was 4.20 out of 5.
The results indicate that customers are generally satisfied with delivery performance, while the feedback also helps identify opportunities for further improvement. Since construction projects often operate under demanding schedules, continuously improving delivery reliability remains an integral part of Polaria’s operations.
Delivery Reliability Is Built Through Everyday Operations
Reliable deliveries are not achieved through individual actions, but through effective management of the entire supply chain.
When production capacity includes built-in flexibility, material availability is secured through multiple suppliers, quality is monitored at every stage of manufacturing, and deliveries are planned around customer requirements, even large order volumes can be completed in a controlled and reliable manner.
Polaria’s operating model has been designed so that even large bathroom furniture project deliveries can be carried out without compromising quality or delivery reliability. At Polaria, large deliveries are not exceptional—they are part of normal operations. This enables growing projects to be completed reliably, in line with customers’ schedules and project requirements.
